Secondary/High School Grading System
The high schools in Turkey use a grading scale of 0-5, where 5 is the highest score.

University Grading Scale
Universities in Turkey use a grading scale of 0-100, where 100 is the highest score. Some of the Turkish universities use an American scale A-F where grade point average (GPA) is calculated on a scale of 4.00.

Academic Year
The academic year of educational institutions in Turkey commences in the mid-September or early October and ends in May or early June. The academic year is split up into 2 semesters:
- First semester: Commences in September and concludes in January.
- Second semester: Commences in February and concludes in June.
Break time: Winter break of 2-weeks in February
Language of Instruction
The language of instruction in Turkey is Turkish and English. Though, some of the academic programmes at higher education level are offered in German, French or English, along with one year preparatory course.
