Scholarships for Turkish and International Students in Turkey
Turkish as well as international students are offered many scholarships- scholarships based on merit, government funded scholarships, and many more.
Undergraduate and graduate students having Turkish citizenship are offered grants and loans through centralized state grant and loan system. The Higher Education Loan and Dormitory Authority (YURTKUR) manages the state loans and accommodation in higher education.
Turkiye Scholarships
Turkiye Scholarships is a government funded higher education scholarship programme meant for international students who wish to pursue
higher education in Turkey. Turkiye Scholarship holders get monthly allowance and they are allowed to stay in state university dormitories without paying any fee. Also, travel expenses are covered under this scholarship programme.
Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TUBİTAK) Scholarships
The TUBİTAK offers many scholarship programmes for international pupils who plan to study in Turkey. Following are the scholarship programmes offered by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey:

Scholarship of Islamic Development Bank (IDB)
The Islamic Development Bank offers scholarships to the pupils who come to Turkey for higher studies from the following countries: Myanmar, Uganda, Ghana, Somalia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Sierra Leone, and Maldives.
Scholarships by Universities in Izmir
Yasar University: The Yasar University provides an annual scholarship of 1500 USD to all the full-time international undergraduate students, who have enrolled at the university. To continue this scholarship in the next academic year, student must attain a GPA of at least 2.50 over 4.
Merit Scholarships
Some of the state universities and foundations in Turkey provide merit scholarships to students who have an excellent academic background. Scholarships are offered for the course of study the student is registered in and are continued throughout the regular period of the pupil’s education.
Scholarship duration: 5 years for students who join English language preparatory course; 4 years for freshman.
Scholarship benefits: Scholarship includes tuition fee, dormitory housing fees and a 10-month stipend to cover the costs of living.
